Editing Instructions

From My Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

There are two ways to create a new page,

First: Use the search facility for the article title you want to create, if no such page exists, then if you are logged in you will be given the opportunity to create it.

Second: If you edit an existing page and make reference to a new page, i.e. by embeding this in the text, [[new page]] , an empty page will be created with the name "new page". Once you save the page you made reference to the new page in, the new page link will show up in red text, by clicking on this you will be taken to page where you can create it and start to edit it.

Once you have your new page and have selected to edit it, then paste in the following standard template data (see other tamplates below), this will create a set of headings and contents table. This wiki uses "wikitext" to format the text rather than a wysiwyg editor, but is fairly easy to use and get used to.

At the end of each page you create the you should also add in the category reference by adding one or more of,

[[category:MK1]]

and, or

[[category:MK2]]

and , or

[[category:How to]]

This will then add the page to one or more of the category listing. For more formating help look here Help:Formatting.

To insert a link to elsewhere in the wiki then add [[page name]].

To insert an image in a page then add [[image:image.jpg]]. The image name is created when you Special:Upload the file.
